Facebook for Dance Schools
Here is our simple guide to facebook marketing that we have found works for us :)
Boosted Post.
This is the simplest and some would argue the best way to advertise to local mums. As it will appear like a normal post in the news feed of your target audience, where as carousels, single image ads and slideshows look more overtly like advertisements in a timeline.
The option to boost a post will appear at the bottom of the posts on your page.
*TIP* Make sure you set a specific audience so you post is only seen by people who would be interested in your class.
Mum Groups.
This is the best source of new enquires! Join your local mum group i.e Winchester mums, Sussex mums, Mummy meet ups etc. Like all advertising be careful not to over do it as this may lead to you being kicked out of the group. Some mum groups also run competitions and giveaways that you can get involved in.
Targeting Audiences (Friend or Foe).
Target audiences are the most frustrating thing especially if like us you live and run classes in a small village. First things first set your where (location) and the surrounding area. (this appears as a blue highlighted circle around your location) Then decide on the gender and age of your super parent.
Now for the nitty gritty, try and think of all the places your ideal parent hangs out or is interested in. These help you get specific on who is viewing your advert.
The problem with this is sometimes if you live in a small area you can get too specific and facebook doesn't like it. So try not to get too picky. Start with the core things you want your ideal dance parent to have and go from there.
Consistency, Consistency, Consistency.
Like everything in life consistency is key! They say that it takes 6 months for you to see the results of your marketing and that the average person needs to see your advert 3 time before they would take action. You should be posting something exciting and interesting at least 3 times per week.
Evaluate Your Results.
After you have boosted a post or created an advert it important you write down how it went your reach and how many free trials or website clicks you got for your money. This way you can see what is working and what isn't.
