SEO For Dance Classes
In our last post we spoke about what on earth is SEO? this week we're going to talk about how you can use SEO to boost traffic to your dance schools website. After all that is what Search Engine Optimising is all about!
Content Creation.
Include key words and phrases.
Write blogs about your expertise, how to do your hair for class or make up for the show. When you write your blogs try and include as many keywords as possible. These key words and phrases should be related to the searches your customers are using to find you.
Be inspired by your competitors.
Look at who ranks higher than you in a google search and see what content they have created to drive traffic to there site? Could you make a version of it? Don't copy of course but you can be inspired.
External Links.
Try to get other sites to link to yours, these could be free advertising sites like netmum or other fitness classes in the area that you have wrote a guest blog on, all these link back to you website and increase your ranking on Google.
TIP- .org and .Gov websites carry the most weight with google
Your Website.
Internal Links.
Link word on your site to other page on your site, the easiest way to do this is on your blog where you can link words to other blogs on your site or even your sign up form for classes.
Dwell time.
This is the time a person spends on your site. You can help increase this with things like videos and articles they can share.
Content Length.
Try not to flood a page with text as it can put people off. Aim for between 300-600 unique words.
Update Regularly.
Google tracks this and will rank sites higher that regularly update its content it wants to shows current and fresh sites. Make sure the term dates are up to date and you are posting fresh and interesting blog posts regularly
Naming Images.
This one is super easy, give each image a name this could be either a description or one of your keywords when saving them instead of 165xE.Jpg
Mobile friendly.
This one is the most important! Make sure your site is mobile friendly not only do most people use there mobile to browse the web. Non Mobile websites will be de-indexed.
F Shape Theory.
This is a theory that people don't pay attention to the right hand side of the screen. So put all your important info into the F shape on the screen.
Google Analytics.
Sign up to Google Analytics it is a great and free resource to show you where your customers are coming from, what time of day it is and when they leave/ what page they leave (bounce rates). Remember knowledge is power when you know what page they are leaving from you can look at why and improving it, so they stay longer!
