A Spooktacular Halloween!
I love a theme and Halloween is one of my favourites! We make halloween an event in our school with a halloween themed class and a halloween disco too (blog to follow)!
TRICK OR TREAT.
Most children will be going trick or treating so will already have a costume and parents will love having a reason for them wearing them twice or even three times! so if you take one thing from this blog, HAVE A FANCY DRESS CLASS! * This is also a great PR opportunity - take photos in class to send in or invite the local papers photographer to highlight your class!
SPOOKY DANCING.
With so many iconic halloween songs, Thriller! monster mash! This is halloween! Ghostbusters.... this list goes on and on :) why not create a halloween themed dance and combos or use ours. - Skeleton dance -
FUN AND GAMES.
When i was a child i loved all the silly and oh so simple halloween games and i still do! We always do apple bobbing, Witches ring toss and toilet roll mummy's its always such fun and a great photo opportunity too
Pumpkin Dance Challenge -
This game we play with our 7+ dancers. Each pumpkin has a dance move on it. We put them in a cauldron and in small groups they pick out a number of pumpkins and use the moves to create a dance!
Trick or treat treasure hunt
Preschool version - This version each child has a tick sheet with different halloween shapes ( witch, caldron, cat, etc ) they have to travel round the room finding and ticking off the shapes. * This is also a great spacial awareness and shape recognition activity*
4+ version- This version works the same way with children finding the shapes but each shape has a challenge on the back that they have to complete before ticking off the shape.
* Why not do a Facebook Live during the mummy race, giving your parents an insight into class and Facebook lives rank highest on your Facebook page (i.e. your reach more people that like your page.)
Toilet Roll Zombies.
Everyone loves the toilet roll game. To jazz it up a little for the older class we give them a project runway style challenge such as they have to create a prom dress, tutu or a wedding dress out of toilet rolls.
PUMPKINS.
Pumpkins are such a cheap and fun way to decorate your class/hall. We give each staff member a pumpkin to carve and we get a bit competitive over who has the best design ;p

* We use LED lights inside the pumpkin as cheap halloween costumes can be highly flammable.
MAKE IT A BRING A FRIEND WEEK.
You have gone to the effort of creating something special you want to take every opportunity to get as much out of it as possible. Create a simple halloween invite or use ours to give out to your student two weeks before you halloween class.
CREATE SOME EXCITEMENT.
Create a buzz around this class get excited about class and your students will to. Post to Instagram photos and videos of you carving the pumpkins, making decorations, do a music reveal... in short create a buzz :) With our halloween class pack you get a range of social media posts to take the stress out of advertising!
